"I want to leave a legacy!"

Those words sometimes haunt me.  More than anything in my life, I want to leave a legacy for the good of others and the glory of God.  I suspect that’s your desire as well.

Several weeks ago I read a startling statistic: only 7% of churches in the US that are 50 years old or older are growing.  That’s alarming for many reasons, but it was alarming to me because our church, First Baptist Church Temple Terrace, will be 56 years old in 2015. I want to go AGAINST the norm - I want to leave

a legacy!

I am so grateful for those who have gone before us, leaving a legacy for this generation, but I now understand that God has placed us here, at this point in time, so that those who come behind us will also find us faithful.

For this reason, I am inviting you to join me on a journey.  It’s a Legacy Journey.  It’s a journey that will ensure that by God’s grace His church will continue to grow in this generation and for generations to come.  It’s a journey that will result in both spiritual and financial blessings.  It’s a journey that will require vast involvement throughout the family known as First Baptist Church Temple Terrace.  It’s a Legacy Journey of faith.

This journey will impact our past, present, and our future decisions.  With your help we will pay on past debt, meet present needs, and position ourselves for future growth.

Over the next several weeks you will begin to hear about how you can come along on this Legacy Journey.  You will hear more about the vision God is giving us, and you will see specific ways that you can be involved. You will also be invited to attend one of our small-group Vision Gatherings.  These meetings will give you an opportunity to hear more about our plans and pray more specifically about how you can be involved.

In the days that follow our Vision Gatherings, we will ask you to ask God to reveal His desire for your gift (over and above your regular tithes and offerings) to our Legacy Campaign.

Would you take a moment RIGHT NOW, and ask God to help you leave a legacy for the good of others and the glory of God through the ministry of FBCTT?

I can’t wait to join you on this journey, as we ask God to do what only He can do, so that we can leave a legacy for the good of others and for His glory.

Leaving a legacy with you,

Pastor Paul
